Summer 2010
Planting chamomile April 2010
This summer has possibly been the hottest and driest we have experienced since we started producing essential oils over 12 years ago now. Although newly planted crops have struggled for moisture the established crops have produced less growth but oil yields are certainly higher on the those distilled so far. German chamnomile and English/Roman chamomile yields are possibly the best on record with quality good too. Lavender yields are also excellent from all the material currently being distilled.

2009 Outlook
Ken in a crop of English/Roman chamomile
2009 has started with some very cold weather which has delayed the spreading of the distilled herb waste back onto the fields, this action not only replaces organic matter back into the soil but also has some nutrient value which with the high costs of fertilser at the moment is a welcome alternative. Chamomile plants are again being planted by four growers this season, this is to replace areas of older plantation that are being taken out of production. We will be planting more melissa, yarrow, peppermint and thyme this year along with the seeding of hemp and German chamomile. After many years experrience in the growing and distilling of essential oils we are now expanding our retail (website) range to include oils not only distilled by ourselves but other businesses around the globe. This is partly due to requests from our many customers for quality reliable oils to complement our excisting range. New oils are being added from january onwards with many more appearing over the next few weeks. We are also asking for customers to email us if there is an oil they would like to se on our sales pages, with our many contacts in the trade we are able to source these. We are looking forward to a warmer summer this year which we hope will raise oil yields to their more traditional levels. If you have any requests for oils or further information please e-mail to ken@neoils.com
2008 HARVEST
Collecting Peppermint for Distillation
2008 harvest began in early June with the German chamomile, the melissa, peppermint, English chamomile and lavenders have followed on. August started with some wet and stomry weather and this slowed harvesting slightly. Herb distillation continued on and off well into October this season which is much later than normal and we had to fit it around all the other crop harvesting on the farms We have also distilled many other products for other growers such as lavender, Thyme, Sage and Lovage. Angelica roots were distilled in early November, along with some more lovage leaves and a root trial. Quality has been generally quite good with the distilleries great steam capabilities excelling in the damp times. Yields have been variable but in general it looks as if they are down again which will see some products in short supply For wholesale pricing contact us at sales@neoils.com and for small bottle purchases visit our on line ordering page

Distillation Equipment Installed
Interior view of main distillery building
Following the completion of the 'New Distillery Building' during early summer 2003 the growers successfully moved and modified the excisting equipment into place in record time and with the help of Mec-A-Tecs excellent work force distillations were very quickly underway. With the modifications complete we have found that we now have more precise control over each individual distillation which allows us to fine tune to the very varied conditions that can occur in the field. We can now achieve high quality processing independent of the varying weather conditions that may occur.
